Noble County Marriage License Search

Noble County marriage licenses are issued by the Noble County Clerk of Circuit Court in Albion, Indiana. Both applicants must appear together at the clerk's office before 3:30 PM to apply. Noble County Clerk of Circuit Court

The Noble County Clerk's office is at 101 N Orange Street in Albion, the county seat. Noble County is in northeastern Indiana, between Fort Wayne and the Michigan border. Albion is a small town, but the clerk's office handles marriage license applications for the entire county. Both applicants must arrive together and finish by 3:30 PM, which is earlier than the typical 4:00 PM cutoff in most Indiana counties.

Noble County does not perform marriage ceremonies at the courthouse. You need to arrange your own officiant before the ceremony. The office accepts cash, money orders, and major credit or debit cards (MasterCard and Visa). Personal checks are not accepted. This is worth knowing before you make the drive to Albion. Have cash or a card ready when you go in.

Non-US citizens should also note that Noble County requires your birth certificate to be translated into English if it is in another language. This is a local requirement specific to this county. Make sure your translation is done before your visit to avoid a second trip.

Applying for a Noble County Marriage License

Both parties must appear together at the Noble County Clerk's office under IC 31-11-4-3. You can start the online pre-application at in.gov/courts/services/marriage-license before your visit. Arriving by 3:30 PM is required to get a marriage license that day. Don't cut it too close to the cutoff time.

Noble County accepts a valid driver's license or birth certificate as your primary ID. If you are not a US citizen, your birth certificate must be translated into English if the original is in another language. Bring the translation with you. Your Social Security number is required on the application. Noble County does not require you to show the card, but you must provide the number.

At least one party must reside in Noble County, or both must be out-of-state residents, to apply here. Applicants under 18 should contact the Noble County Clerk directly, as the office will explain the additional steps needed for minors under IC 31-11-1-4. Prior marriage details must be disclosed per IC 31-11-4-1.

The license is valid for 60 days under IC 31-11-4-10. Indiana has no waiting period. The officiant must return the signed license to the Noble County Clerk within 30 days of the ceremony per IC 31-11-4-18.
