Applying for a Pulaski County Marriage License
Both applicants must go to the Pulaski County Clerk in Winamac at the same time. This is a requirement under IC 31-11-4-3. You cannot apply on separate days or have one person fill out the form for both. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. A driver's license, passport, state ID card, or military ID all qualify. Each person applying must also provide their Social Security number. The clerk uses this to complete and verify the application.
There is no waiting period in Indiana. Once you pick up the Pulaski County marriage license, you can hold your ceremony the same day if you choose. The license is valid for 60 days from the date of issue under IC 31-11-4-10. After 60 days, the license expires and you would have to apply again. No blood test is required. The minimum age without parental consent is 18 under IC 31-11-1-4. Applicants who are 16 or 17 must have a parent or legal guardian present.
If either applicant was previously married, bring a certified divorce decree or death certificate for the prior spouse. A plain copy of these documents may not be accepted. Bring the certified version to avoid problems at the window. The clerk can tell you exactly what form is required if you call ahead.
Note: There is no residency requirement to apply in Pulaski County. Anyone can get a license from any Indiana county, regardless of where they live.
Pulaski County Marriage License Cost

Not all county clerk offices process credit cards, so having cash or a check ready is often the safer choice.
