How to Get a Putnam County Marriage License
Both people getting married must go to the Putnam County Courthouse in Greencastle together. You cannot apply by mail, online only, or separately. Under IC 31-11-4-3, both applicants must appear in person before the clerk at the time of the application. Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. A driver's license, passport, state ID card, or military ID all meet the requirement. Each applicant must also provide their Social Security number.
